Reflection

The "Still Thoughts" session was successful as all of the students involved sharing their opinions and thoughts clearly. The revision on skimming showing that 50% of the students were still unsure with it. They might know the theory but did not really understand its application. The exercise on scanning would be the homework due to time constraint. More discussion on skimming and scanning will be carried out in the next lesson.

Reflection

"Still Thoughts" session was satisfactory and the students tended to read and was not loud enough to be heard clearly. The students were able to give correct answers with their own techniques. Half of the students were still unable to differentiate the techniques of skimming and scanning even though they were actually applying it.

The "Still Thoughts" session was satisfactory. The students were quite confused with subject matter and main idea. Further discussion will be carried out in the next lesson.

Reflection

The students were still not so familiar with the test format in Paper 3 because they were not exposed to the model exam paper yet. Some of them were very interested with the reading materials shown. On the other hand,they were able to answer the simple questions given correctly. The application of skimming will be further exposed to them in the later lesson.

Reflections

5K1: The ss chose Qwertyuiop for the revision. Through the quiz and questions given, they seemed like forgotten most parts of the story . The poem, Nature was easy to understand for the students. However, they need to revise by their own more with the notes given.

5S4: The discussion was done in brief. The ss could understand


Nature better than the poem, Are You Still Playing Your Flute? They were still blur with the literary meaning for each stanza. Hence, they could not explain well for the message found in each stanza. They should read up the notes and exercise given.

5K7: The ss were more interested in The Fruitcake Special because the plot is easy for them. However, none of them could tell the plot of the story. They did not remember the characters too. Quizzes were given to help them remember the detail.

5S4: They managed to do the introductory paragraph. Most of the time, their ideas were overlapping and disorganized for the body.

5K1: There were around 30% of the ss still unable to write a title without errors. They were lack of ideas to write the report and some did not know the format well. They need to revise the format based on the sample report in the textbook and notes given.

Reflection 

Most of the ss did not complete the form because they did not know how to write in English. They enjoyed reading the books with pictures. There were few interpreted the message of the story by just looking at the illustration shown in each page. So, more books or reading materials with interesting pictures will be prepared for the ss. Dictionary will be provided to help them in reading.

5K7: Most of the ss were interested with the discussion. There were less than 30% of them gave response accordingly. Some of them were hardly find words to express their ideas due to the low language proficiency.
