ReflectionAlmost 80% of the ss were unable to write an informal letter even though the format and sample sentences are shown on the blackboard. Many of them could not express their ideas in English despite the bilingual dictionary provided.

5S4: The ss understood the lesson but there were around 30% of the ss

did not complete the exercise in time. They needed drilling

Reflection 

The students were unable to finish the exercise on sentence building. It will be discussed further in the next period after they have done it. Most of them were able to identify the different forms of tense. The exercise will be discussed next week.

Reflection 

The students enjoyed the reading process. Some students could finish the reading while more than 50% needed to continue their reading in the next lesson. It depends on their language proficiency and the length of the reading materials chosen.

Reflections

5K1: The students were interested with the quiz. They could follow the activity with the detailed explanation of the teacher. On the other hand, they found it boring to copy the notes. It shall be given in another form later.

5S4: The activity consumed more time as planned because the students had the problem to understand the questions. They needed more facilitation from the teacher. More students should be asked to share their findings. However, there were only two students are asked to do so due to the time constraints. The writing exercise will be discussed in the next lesson.

Most of the students were not interested with the test. Most of them were not following the test due to their low proficiency of English. The teacher had to translate the questions into BM to enhance their comprehension.

Reflections

5K1: The students were blurred about the difference between career and job. They needed more explanation and examples to answer the questions asked. Facilitation from the teacher was crucial throughout the lesson especially in helping them to do the exercise.

5S4: The students could understand the difference between career and job after few explanations. The exercise given helped them to understand better about the difference.
