Reflection 

The selected student was able to find an interesting current issue. He could improve his presentation by knowing more about the causes and effects of the incident of '9/11', so that the other classmates could understand better about the topic discussed. All of them did not have sufficient knowledge about the issue. The teacher facilitated the discussion by giving examples and telling them things they needed to do in performing the task.

Reflection 

The selected student was keen to share the topic i.e. Crimes. However, he could not deliver the message clearly due to the language constraint. The response during the discussion was satisfactory. On the other hand, the students still need to improve their skill to read the non-linear texts esp. the graphic aids. Half of them failed to recognize the two headings of the non-linear texts provided in the question.

Reflection 

The students were passive about the topic presented i.e. Children Sexually Abused on Pakistan's Street. The teacher discussed the topic by relating it to the social ailments and advised them to be alert with this kind of issues nowadays. Besides, they managed to form a clear introduction accordingly. They were also able to build lead-in questions after the discussion in class.

Reflection 

The selected student presented a brief sharing on the previous topic. It was only in one paragraph. They are advised to write more in order to practice the skill of generating ideas. The students learned to interpret the graphic aids by looking at the sentence and grammatical structures like tenses, choice of words, writing style and tone. They were asked to apply the techniques learnt in the homework given.

5K7: Overall, the ss performed badly with 100% failure. No one could write the letter with a correct format. The sample essay was given by the teacher.

5K1:More than 50% of the ss could write the format correctly. The points given were not all included. Language was poor and made the meaning become blurred. T5hey were reminded to write simple sentences and include all the points provided.

5S4: The ss were dissatisfied with their own performance. They were not ready well. The paper was not prepared in a full set despite the time for the test was shorter than what it should be too.

5K1: Most of the ss did not answer the summary due to the time constraint. However, after the discussion, they had a better idea to answer it.

5K7:There were less than 10% of the ss tried to answer the summary. They

did not understand the questions asked about the passage too. They were given tips to answer the summary.

5S4: most of the ss answered all the questions, but did not show full understanding on the comprehension questions. They were told to identify the keywords and steps to answer the summary.

scene selected. They needed more practice to enhance their

discussing the answers of the students.

Reflection 

The ss were able to identify the causes and effects for most of the sentences. However, they were confused if a signal word showing a cause or an effect was not arranged together with it but the word is put with its contrasting information i.e. for example, if 'consequence' is put in front of the reason based on the context, the ss would think that the information after the signal word is an effect in that sentence. They were reminded by the teacher to read carefully in order to understand the contextual meaning correctly.

5K1: The ss enjoyed the discussion on the synopsis by looking at

the attractive illustrations and listening to the teacher's

explanation. However, most of them have not finished

reading the novel yet.

5K7: The teacher explained the story to the ss by showing the

pictures. BM had to b used to enhance their understanding.

Besides, they are given an sample answer of the question

about moral values too.

5S4: There were only 10% of the ss has finished reading the story.

Nevertheless, they were able to give appropriate response

during the discussion. More exercises are given as their

homework during the holiday.

Based on the listening exercises given, the ss could not fully master the technique of drawing conclusions due to the speed of the listening text, the pronunciation and the limited information i.e. short in length. They need to improve their pronunciation skill so that they could catch the meaning of the listening text easily.

The discussion of the exercises showed that the ss still need to improve their skill in predicting outcomes by enhancing their knowledge on vocabulary or specific terms and understand the questions. They, however, could scan correctly the specific information they needed for the summarising task.

5K1 & 5S4: Satisfactory feedback.


 

5K7: Dissatisfactory feedback. The ss did not care about the test. There

were more than 60% who did not answer the question with the

excuse they did not understand at all. Around 5% of them were caught

cheating during the test. The rest kept talking and ignore the test.

Furthermore, they ignored the advice from the teacher too. A serious

action needs to be taken so that they know how to respect themselves

and the teacher as well. Co-operation from all the related parties are

essential.

with the excuse that they did not understand the language. In fact,

most of the reading materials chosen were at the primary level i.e.
