1. response appropriately by sharing information based on the news

about disasters one have read or heard through mass media.

2. identify the tenses used in the sample sentences.

3. write a paragraph to share one's opinion on disasters happened in

Japan lately using the phrases given: I think…; In my opinion…;or,

I strongly believe that…

Activities 

1. Discussing the topic: World Disasters.

2. Revision on tenses: notes and exercise.

3. The teachers gives the instruction of the exercise as homework.

Reflection 

The ss were able to understand simple present and simple past tense by giving correct examples. They had problems in forming present perfect tense. However, most of them are still confusing with the use of tenses despite of the low level of vocabulary.

There were only a handful of ss able to complete the story in time. The reading will be continued in the next lesson.

2. differentiate the three tenses learnt by recognizing its forms and

time indicators found in the sentences given.

1. Revision on tenses: notes and exercise.

2. The teachers discusses the notes and exercise with the ss.

Reflection 

The ss were able to identify the forms for each tense learnt based on the sentences given. There were only around 10% of the ss knew how to use the simple present and simple past tenses, but not the present perfect tense. The low proficiency in English amongst the ss is the main factor.

4. The ss write the answers on the blackboard.

Reflection 

There were more than 50% of the ss understood the lesson. The ss needed more exercises to enhance their comprehension.
